2025 is not that far away – only 11 years. 2003 was only 11 years ago.
More useful for our purposes are the suggestions of what to do with this information. The LinkedIn author suggests that we ask ourselves “what if these predictions are correct?” Can your business take advantage of the potential? Can you position yourself to contribute? How might your products need to adapt?
Consider the prediction of the end of food shortages and food price fluctuations because of lighting advances that will allow indoor crop growing. What might that mean to the foodservice industry? Will restaurants incorporate space to grow their own specialties? Will food processing need to evolve? And those lighting advances – where else might they be applied?
Toss out the question anytime: what do you think will be different in 2025? Then follow up with: how can we take advantage of that? And how can we prepare for it?
